Wrap-Around Roller Shutter Door Seal - Installation Instructions
GaraDry Wrap-Around Roller Shutter Seals are suitable for use with commercial shutter doors with a standard 75mm T-shaped bottom rail. No fixings or sealant are required for installation.
This product is not suitable for shutter doors without a 75mm wide T-shaped bottom rail.
It is normal for the wrap-around seal to become curved due to being coiled for transport. Lay the product in a warm room on a clean, flat surface for a day or two to regain its original shape. Gentle heat can also be applied with a hairdryer.
This product should only be installed by a responsible adult and due care and attention should be paid.
Measure the roller door
With a tape measure, measure the width of the door between the tracks.
Mark cutting point on wrap-around seal
Use a pencil or marker pen to mark the desired length on the wrap-around seal, taking care to double-check all measurements.
Cut the wrap-around seal
Use a hacksaw or utility knife to cut the wrap-around seal to size.
Fit the wrap-around seal on the outside
Open the shutter door part-way so the bottom rail is at a suitable working height.
Starting outside from one end, press and clip one side of the wrap-around flap onto the T-shaped bottom rail. Repeat this process along the length of the seal.
Top Tip - Another pair of hands holding the other end of the seal up will make this process easier.
Finish securing the wrap-around seal on the inside
Working inside from one end, press and clip the remaining side of the wrap-around flap onto the T-shaped bottom rail.
Repeat this process all the way along until the seal is fully seated on the bottom rail.
Inspect the entire length of the threshold both inside and outside to ensure it is fully in place.
Check the door closes correctly
Close the roller shutter and make sure the door shuts and is locking correctly.
Note: Due to coiling for transport, there may be a 'ripple' effect along the bottom of the seal. To remedy this, lay the product in a warm room on a clean, flat surface for a day or two to regain its original shape. Gentle heat can also be applied with a hairdryer.
