17 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

When Ashley Smith started the business in 2005, his office was his bedroom and the garage and shed was his stock room! From humble beginnings to becoming the industry leader that we are today, the story of GaraDry®. Now the home garage has made way for HQ offices and warehouses in Ormskirk and distribution centres in the US and Germany.

GaraDry®is now the global leader in the manufacturer of garage door and commercial door weather seal products.

THE BEGINNING

The company started in 2005 as an online spares parts business for garage doors, providing customers with spare parts that need replacing. This continues with the WS Garage Door Spares website still today.

Ashley is a qualified industrial designer and he personally designed and developed a product range that solves the problem of keeping water and leaves out of garages and commercial buildings. This is where the idea for Weather Stop® started and where our innovative garage door threshold seals began. A new company was formed in the UK in 2009; Yellow Product Design Ltd and the brand Weather Stop® was launched.

In 2010 we expanded with an aluminium range of thresholds to use in commercial warehouses. Then creating a French and German website in 2012; the progress was very rapid and successful. Shortly after Italian, Danish and Australian stores were also launched to keep expanding our customer base.

BECOMING GARADRY®

Due to the interest in the product range in North American, we launched the products in the United States and formed the company GaraDry LLC in Atlanta, Georgia in 2017.

A new brand name of GaraDry® was launched in the US because we wanted a stronger trademark and a name that was more memorable and described exactly what our products do: “Keep your garage dry”. Having two brand names was not ideal for our global identity. After setting up a distribution centre over in America in 2019 we finally decided to merge the two brand names, and in 2022 GaraDry® became the global brand name.
